dirt, sun, and snow.

so this is pretty jumbled, since i'm at work and am pretty tired, so hopefully it's somewhat clear. basically, i've had a fun last month of my life. and this is a blog to tell about it.

So recently ben and i have been having a lot of fun... we went with SEVEN other couples (some on first dates, some married, some now engaged, some dating for a while) to dinner and a rodeo. We went to Jamba Juice/Chipotle for dinner and then to the rodeo to watch some crazy stuff for our saturday night date. It was a ton of fun. We loved hanging out with our friends and they're cute dates. We had (from the bottom left) Kenny and his date, ben and me, our good friends Chris and Sydney (the married couple we love going on double dates with), Brett and Carlie (they're married too), Chris and Kamilla, Lance and his date, and then Amy and her friends/fiance. we had a blast. This is the ONE picture of people we had from the whole night, but it was a good time. Rodeo's always are.. The only problem was that there was lots of dirt in the air and it was a closed arena (with a roof) so my nose was gross the rest of the night.. :P but all in all, a lot of fun.

Then a few weeks later (21st of March) Ben and I went to Kanab for Ben's brother's Mission farewell. Tom did a great job speaking. He is going to be such an amazing missionary. We are so proud to say that we have someone serving the lord in the Houston Texas South Mission. We took this precious picture after church that Sunday. (more pictures with tom and at the MTC to come... if i can get them from the mom). The weather was so nice down there! I wish we could have stayed longer! Kanab is where it's at! it's ALWAYS WARMER than provo. i loved it.
Then just this past monday, we went snowboarding up at brighton... it didn't last long b/c the snow wasn't too good and ben's knee started to hurt, but we still had fun. I'm going one last time on friday and it's snowing right now (on wednesday), so hopefully i'll get one good ride in before the end of the season.. I'M SO EXCITED.
This is us afterwards... it was pretty cold. :) aren't we just precious.
More adventures to come.. dirt, sun and snow.. Utah can't make up it's mind.. but despite the snow, summer is coming! (at least it better BE!) i can feel it in my freezing cold toes!

OH YEAH!!! P.S. AGAIN: I'm moving out of my GPA's during Spring and Summer Semesters!! i'm soo excited. I'm going to be living with my friend Savannah and I am so excited to finally have roommates and to be responsible and to just be like every other normal college student! (i know, you probably think i'm crazy, and you're not the only one. But as amazing as G-Pa's is.. i need to get out on my own for a bit) I'll be back in fall.. no way i'm paying more than 105$ a month for housing! (and i'm not walking to school in the snow) LOVE MY LIFE RIGHT NOW! thanks for everyone who keeps encouraging and supporting me. I appreciate it so much. Especially my mom/dad and sister/broinlaw. they're the best!

Back Tracking...

So i've decided that backtracking is not worth the time and energy it takes to recall all my fun times and wait for my slow internet to load the millions of photos... so.... here are some recent happenings..

I took a snowboarding class from BYU this semester and LOVED IT.Ben's 24th B-day was on January 18th! (not the 19th for any of you know know that Ben had two b-days for a while... we worked that out as well) :) and i made him cupcakes and bought some good looking shirts for him..
in Late January, Ben and I went to the Zermatt resort in midway on a double date and got to see these AMAZING Ice castles! We went to Zupas (one of our favorite restaurants) afterwards and then went home and watched the movie "the ultimate gift" to top off the night..
BEST DATE EVER.After our date we took this precious picture:Then on V-Day weekend, we went down to Kanab (where Ben is from) and had fun driving around, playing b-ball with his brother/dad/sister, and eating amazing food made by his mom...
not to mention his awesome v-day gift (one was edible and the other was memorable)

and Ben came home to his room decorated for V-day... All the reasons i like ben (each heart had a reason.. Precious right? ;)

I think that's it... So yeah. hope you liked those pictures.. March hasn't been filled with much. Just lots of school work and trying to stay on top of my life.. (it's quite a task). I've been playing catch-up for way too long...

i love them for more reasons than that, but i am soo happy they are my friends. it was great to talk with both of them this past week. congratulations molly! and THANKS savannah! i love you guys.!! can't wait till molly moves back and we can play again! I'm excited for taco tuesdays and sleepovers... well, maybe not sleepovers b/c molly will be married and her husband would miss her. but whatev. :) good times are soon to come!

Shout out to my PADRE!

This is a birthday shout out to mi padre. he is now FIFTY-freaking-THREE. not too shabby eh?
I love his crooked smile in this picture. and the fact that he is not one bit bothered by emma as i would have been.
Also, This is my favorite video of my dad... when he was a good sport and tried our Bertie Botts every flavored beans we got from the Jelly Belly factory that day... as you can see in the video, he really liked the flavor.

One last thing... Dad- i love you because you have gotten our family to where we are today. You made the best decision ever to be converted to the gospel of jesus christ and with that you met mi madre. if you would not have been the stud you were mom might have never said yes to you in the joseph smith building after that american heritage video. So, thanks for making good decisions... for more than just yourself. for all of us. even though i sometimes hate all your questions, i love my hair... which kinda makes up for it. ;) so thanks. thanks for being a wonderful example to me of hard work and unconditional love. i really couldn't have gotten to where i am in my life without you. you're the bestest.

cause of all my tears...

So, if you read my previous post, you’ll know that I went home last weekend to pick up a retainer to straighten up my little chompers… well, I’ve got it! It hasn’t been too bad, but it has cause more tears than it’s allowed to… the little guy puts so much pressure on my teeth in a solid effort to move them, but when I take it off to eat (ahh Relief!) my teeth are sore and it hurts to bite down on my food! ☹ I definitely smile even more crooked than before and am still talking funny (like a baby discovering his/her tongue) and I have more saliva in my mouth than ever before but I’m hoping it will eventually be worth it.

little chompers

does anyone know who this is????

YES. it's chomper from the land before time... (not one of the earlier movies--definitely from numbers 50-100). Well, that was mainly just to get you thinking of the word chomper. Because today, my little chompers aren't working at full capacity... Actually, they've been messed up for a while. ready for this?
STORY: ages 0-12 lost various teeth, got some cavities, one silver cap (ghetto i know) finally got all my permanent teeth in around age 12. SO... on go the braces. braces, tears and rubberbands from age 12-14(ish). got them off-love my life. got my retainers-hate my life. bottom teeth still shifted, got a permanent retainer on the bottom, lost the top one (oops)... so, after taking 4 wisdom teeth out at age 18, and 7 years after the braces were taken off, my teeth are SO BOGUS. this results in a few orthodontist visits (periodically between ages 18-21) and the eventual decision to take my permanent retainer off the bottom and get a new one that they can adjust to fix my teeth. (appt. Nov 24, '09) in the meantime, i FINALLY start seeing the big kid dentist at age 21 (in utah) and he tells me i have 3 cavities on 4 teeth. (no bueno) (Dec 10, '09) then i go home, get molded for my retainer (Dec 22, '09), come back and get my cavities filled (Today! Jan 12, '10) and this weekend i'm flying home to get my retainer... (Jan 18, '10) SO BOGUS. do you know what that means?? as of JANUARY 18th i will have been to the chomper doctors FIVE TIMES in TWO MONTHS!!!! SO CRAZY! just so you guys can see how much discomfort i'm in, i've provided the following picture.
I want you too put your hand up to the screen and cover the left side of my face... normal right?? hahaha if only. now cover the right side... so pitiful. that's my, "why is this guy talking to me, when i have to go pee" face.. :) so yeah. talking is kinda hard, so is eating, drinking and blinking... if you cant tell even my left eye didn't get skinny at the edge.. that means i'm numb from about my eyebrow to my chin... and about 65% of my tongue feels like a dead fish inside my mouth. (GROSS)

but whatev. no big deal. i'm just supposed to go out to eat with some friends in a 2 hours.. and this is supposed to be gone in 3-4 hours... really now? i hope my little chompers can catch up to speed before dinner. otherwise, i should probably take it to-go instead of letting it fall all over my face and lap. (although, that would be hilarious for my friends)

(on the upside... the THREE shots i got to numb me up didn't hurt hardly at all!)
